Isuzu is one of those Japanese car manufacturers that stay in their comfort zone by doing what they do best, which is producing quality pickup trucks, sports utility vehicles, and commercial trucks. The Rodeo made its first appearance in 1990 as a smaller less expensive Trooper type SUV. has Replacement Used Isuzu Rodeo Engines for Sale less than you expect, call now.

The Rodeo was specifically designed for the US market. It was constantly updated from a performance perspective. The Rodeo was assembled in Indiana by Isuzu and Subaru. When the first Rodeo was introduced it had a 2.6 liter, 4-cylinder engine that was rated with 120 horsepower. A 3.1 liter V6 made by GM was also available with an automatic transmission.

The early Rodeo engines got decent gas mileage. The 2.6 liter got 18 mpg city, and 22 mpg highway. The 3.1 liter 4-wheel drive engine got 15 mpg city, and 18 mpg highway. In 1993, a 3.2 liter, 4-cylinder V6 was under the hood, and a Family II 4-cylinder from Holden was also available. In 1996, Isuzu cranked the horsepower up on the 3.2 liter to 195 hp with 193 ft-lbs of torque.

The second generation Rodeo got a boost when the 4-cylinder was dropped, and a 3.5 liter V6 with Direct Gasoline Injection became an engine option. That engine was rated with 250 horsepower and 246 ft-lbs of torque. In 1998, Isuzu and General Motors form a company to manufacture diesel engines. The small Amigo made a comeback using the same sheet metal as the Rodeo, but it had a shorter wheelbase and stiffer frame. The Amigo was a shorter soft-top, 2-door version of the Rodeo with a 2.2 liter 4-cylinder engine.

In 2002, the Amigo became the Rodeo Sport to compliment the longer Rodeo style. The Rodeo Sport was discontinued in 2003, and the Rodeo was dropped in 2004. The Rodeo was forever immortalized by Collin Raye in 1997 when the song “Little Red Rodeo” became popular. The song told the story of a man trying to find his girlfriend who drove a red Rodeo.

The Rodeo also known as the Isuzu MU Wizard has a special place in the hearts of frugal SUV owners because the engines produced great gas mileage, and a comfortable ride while hauling weekend loads to the dump.

Ford Fell in Love with the 4.0 Litre SOHC V6 Engine in the Early 1990s
Trying to keep track of all of the Ford engines can keep anyone busy for hours and in some cases days if one really wants an accurate history of how Ford has dominated the industry from a technical standpoint. Some car experts will argue that point since other major brands have played a more dominate part in overall car sales over the last thirty years. Ford SOHC 4.0 l Engines for Sale Used are a very good value for those on a budget.
GM has been a giant, but few people can dispute what Ford’s 4.0 liter SOHC engine has brought to the mechanical side of the business. The 4.0 liter engine was a major player in early Explorer success and the Ranger made a major impact on the truck market with a 4.0 SOHC engine under the hood. Those two vehicles are responsible for hefty sales dollars for Ford. But, when the 2005 Mustang was introduced with a 4.0 liter SOHC engine as its power source the muscle mavens went into exaggerated state of euphoria.

The single overhead camshaft design was not new back in the early 1990s. That engine was used in a 4-cylinder, 8 valve 1960s 2 door saloon car that had a rear mounted alloy engine. The engine design was based on Coventry Climax FWMA race engines. The inlet manifolds and exhaust were on the same side of the engine block, which meant excellent access to the spark plugs.

In the early 1980s several foreign cars used a SOHC parallel valve configuration; there were 2-valves for each cylinder. VW used bucket tappets that had shims for valve lash adjustments, and Toyota used hydraulic tappets.

The 4.0 Litre SOHC Has Come a Long Way Since the 1980s
The 2005 4.0 L SOHC engine was touted as the engine to reckon with when it was put under the hood of the best selling sports car of all time. The Mustang had earned the title and kept the title until the 2010. Nonetheless, the Mustang and the 4.0 litre SOHC Ford engine still hold the firm position of number one for performance in the eyes of car lovers around the world.

We can sell you a 4.0 liter SOHC engine or supply the parts you need to get your engine running like a fine-tuned competitor. Email or call for a used engine with pure value built right into it.
